Prince William and Kate Middleton may be raising their three children in the spotlight, but when it comes to Princess Charlotte, they are determined to let her enjoy her childhood without rushing into adulthood.

According to fashion and beauty expert Laura Sutcliffe, the couple have found a subtle yet meaningful way to help their daughter, now 10, stay “true to her age.”

Speaking to HELLO!, Sutcliffe explained that Charlotte’s signature hairstyle, often neat, tidy plaits, reflects her parents’ desire to keep her grounded and age-appropriate.

“Charlotte has always been a big fan of plaits and has worn them throughout most of her public appearances,” Sutcliffe said.

“It’s lovely to see her hair looking neat and pretty. Lots of people complain that young girls grow up too quickly, but Charlotte and her family stay very true to her age and respect it.”

From sporting plaits at the 2022 Commonwealth Games to a braided style at this year’s Trooping the Colour, Charlotte’s looks have remained consistent and youthful, even as she takes on more royal duties alongside her brothers, Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, seven.

The Wales family’s approach highlights their focus on balance, ensuring their children experience normal childhood moments despite royal responsibilities.
