Princess Beatrice, and Eugenies royal inheritance at risk over refusal of duties

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could face complications over their inheritance of Prince Andrew’s Windsor home due to their decision not to take on royal duties, a property expert has claimed.

The Duke of York has lived at Royal Lodge, a 19th-century Grade II-listed mansion in Windsor Great Park, since 2004 after securing a 75-year lease from the Crown Estate in 2003.

Despite stepping down from public life in 2019, Andrew has reportedly fought to remain in the £30 million property, hoping to one day pass it down to his daughters with Sarah Ferguson.

However, real estate expert Raj Chohan told GB News that the Duke may not have the power to do so.

“Royal Lodge is part of the Crown Estate. Since the Epstein scandal, Prince Andrew has been stripped of royal duties. He is essentially like a sitting tenant, paying rent and maintaining the property. This would now not form part of his estate,” she explained.

Chohan added that while Andrew has expressed wishes to leave the property to Beatrice and Eugenie, the Crown Estate board would ultimately decide.

She also noted the matter could be complicated further as both princesses have refused to take on royal duties.
