Prince William teams up with Lioness Jill Scott in new royal project

Kensington Palace has shared an exciting update involving Prince William, confirming the Prince of Wales has appeared in a brand-new project alongside former Lioness Jill Scott.

The special collaboration marks the 100th anniversary of Fields in Trust, a charity dedicated to protecting parks, playgrounds and green spaces across the UK.

Prince William serves as President of the organisation and has long championed the importance of outdoor spaces for communities and future generations.

The newly released clip, filmed earlier this year, reflects on the charity’s century-long mission to safeguard local parks, playing fields and recreational spaces.

It also highlights the growing urgency to protect green spaces as they continue to disappear across the country.

Throughout the project, both William and Jill reflect on the role green spaces played in shaping their own lives.

As a passionate environmental advocate and founder of the Earthshot Prize, Prince William spoke about the irreversible loss of green spaces and the importance of protecting them now.

“Having access to fresh air, a bit of peace and quiet, greenery, is so good for our minds and bodies. You need to have that space”, he said.

“You need to have that in as many communities as you can. The family connection with Fields in Trust goes way back, a hundred years. The green space protection part is really important, because once a green space goes, it’s gone forever”, he added.

He continued: “What Fields in Trust have done for many years is make sure that everyone has somewhere as amazing as this on their doorstep.”

Jill Scott also reflected on her own childhood growing up in Sunderland and how access to local parks helped shape her life and football career.

“A lot of my childhood was just going to the local park playing football…. without green spaces, I probably would never have gone on to kind of play football at any level”, she said.

The former England star also shared a poignant moment from the filming, adding: “I remember chatting to a small boy who said, ‘if they take away my park, they take away my morning with my dad’.”
