Euphoria finally returned with its star cast in new season after it was released on April 12, 2026 on HBO.
After a break of nearly years, the story continued with Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Damie, Hunter Schafer, Barbie Ferreira and others in the show.
However, the instalment disappointed fans with @notebookrry questioning on X, “how one even got to this point in the writers room…”
Another netizen was of the opinion that the show “wants to die but is being kept alive against its will.”
Meanwhile, an Instagram influencer @abdulrehmanasimm uploaded a story reaction to the season, asking @euphoria “why’s this a whole new show & why is it giving the idol????”
Progressing from a high school drama, the series focuses on characters’ lives individually after a five-year time jump.
One of the most controversial character arcs turned out to be that of Sydney as Cassie, who became an influencer trying to increase her followers through R-rated content.
In a trailer, she dressed up as a baby in an inappropriate post which was deemed “disgusting” and called out to be normalising “paedophilia.”
The creators are yet to address the ongoing backlash as the lead cast is also rumoured to be embroiled in a feud, involving Zendaya and Sydney.
