Kate Middleton has once again solidified her place as Britain’s most beloved royal, as a new YouGov poll crowns her the most popular member of the royal family. Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to struggle in public opinion, ranking at the bottom of the list.
The YouGov survey, conducted between February 20 and February 21 with 2,231 British participants, revealed that the Princess of Wales remains highly admired. A staggering 74% of Britons view her positively, with only 15% expressing a negative opinion. The remaining 11% were undecided, bringing Kate’s overall net favorability score to +59%.
Prince William matched his wife’s popularity, also receiving a 74% positive rating. However, his negative rating was slightly higher at 19%, giving him a net score of +55%.
Coming in closely behind the Waleses was Princess Anne, who earned a 70% approval rating, while King Charles III followed at 59%.
At the other end of the spectrum, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew ranked as the least popular royals. The Sussexes’ ratings have continued to decline in the years following their royal exit, reinforcing their growing disconnect with the British public.
As Kate and William maintain their status as the monarchy’s most cherished figures, the latest poll numbers reflect the ongoing shift in royal public perception—one that may further define the future of the British monarchy.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has previously described the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales as having a "cold" relationship, particularly after Harry and Meghan’s royal exit.
"The relationship between Meghan and Catherine was cold or cool, putting it mildly," Fitzwilliams told The Mirror.
