Ben Ainslie, the most successful sailor in Olympic history remembered the rowing time he shared with Princess Kate during the Portsmouth sailing event in 2016 and Commonwealth Race at Plymouth in the year 2022.
Ben, 48, praised the Princess of Wales: “She is very passionate, we stay up to date about what's going with the sailing teams. Kate is an incredible sailor in her own right.”
“Kate communicates whenever she can besides her busy royal life and we're grateful for her support which is great," the Knight Bachelor told Hello.
British sports legend reminisced about the mother of three's sailing skills: "She was very, very good at helming the boat. It was not just any old boat, this was a 100km per hour catamaran and she clearly knew what she was doing as we won.”
“I didn't need to give her any tips. Kate had a great feel for the boat and was fearless, from what I could tell,” the world sailing champion wrapped up his speech in response to a question of advising the future queen.
Princess Catherine worked as a deckhand on the world yacht race run BT Global Challenge for almost four months between the time of leaving school and joining the St. Andrews. Marie Claire reported Kate was paid less than £60 per day for an 11 hour work period.
