A former royal staffer has spilled the tea on how the Royal Family reportedly view Meghan Markle’s pivot to business and lifestyle branding — and their reaction might surprise fans.
Meghan, 43, officially launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, earlier this year, with three back-to-back product drops ranging from fruit spreads and honey to teas, cookie mixes, and most recently, a rosé wine.
The Duchess of Sussex has also revived her social media presence, leading many royal watchers to suggest she’s carving out a space as a lifestyle influencer.
But according to Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former butler, the royals aren’t upset, they’re entertained.
“I think they’re amused by it,” Burrell told Casino Org, adding: “I think the Royal Family and we on this side of the Atlantic are all amused by it.”
Burrell even hinted at where Meghan’s brand could go next: “Make no mistake, she will go into fashion, into jewellery, maybe have her own perfume. ‘You, too, can smell like Meghan Markle.’ I wonder what that would be like?”
In a previous interview, Meghan confirmed her interest in expanding into fashion: “The category of fashion is something I will explore at a later date, because I do think that’s an interesting space for me,” she told Confessions of a Female Founder podcast listeners.
