Shakira, born to a Lebanese father and Columbian mother, is a singer, songwriter, musician and dancer.

By the age of 10, she began composing songs and taking part in talent competitions, paving a way for herself in the industry.

A prominent figure in Latin music, Shakira has been dubbed as the 'Queen of Latin Music' and the 'Titan of Latin Pop' for her unique work in Latin music, writing.

Over the span of her career in music, the Waka Waka hitmaker took home three Grammy Awards, twelve Latin Grammy Awards, the Billboard music awards, Guinness World Records and the star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She is also known for conducting humanitarian work with the Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos). Back in 2006, Shakira co-founded ALAS, with a focus on addressing early childhood and pregnancy.

Shakira has also donated 10,000 tennis shoes to the poor people in her hometown of Barranquilla. At the same time, the Columbian singer upgraded her travel diaries with a ticket to Bangladesh. She paid a visit to UNICEF supporting education projects and meeting with Cyclone Sidr victims.

In her early 20s, Shakira dated the famous Argentinian lawyer Antonio de la Rua. Despite being together for nearly a decade, they never married with Shakira stating that marriage isn't ideal for her and her music career. The couple separated in August 2010.

A year after she broke up with Antonio, the superstar jumped on the dating bandwagon yet again but with a Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué who plays for Barcelona. Shakira shares two sons, Milan and Sasha with Gerard.

Surprisingly, the duo took internet with a storm after announcing separation in a joint Instagram post in June 2022.
