Shakira has finally revealed how she feels about her ex Gerard Pique four year after their breakup.

In her latest interview with The Times, the Colombian singer, who shares two kids with retired Spanish soccer player reflects on her split back in 2022 notably after staying 11 years together.

“I’ve been through so much pain, but it has made me perhaps in an unforeseen way a wiser person—or stronger, at least,” says the 49-year-old.

Shakira, who real name is Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, points out that, “They say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and it is true.”

“It’s amazing to learn that humans have a resilience that we can resort to at any moment in our lives,” explains the Waka Waka hit-maker while coping with the breakup.

Shakira notes that through hardships and pain, people “discover” how strong they can be.

“Suffering sometimes makes you a better person, makes you value friends and support,” mentions the Hips Don’t Lie singer.

Elsewhere in the interview, Shakira opens up about the lessons she learned after her breakup from Gerard.

“Life sometimes can be a b--ch, but it’s also beautiful and made of light and shadows,” she continues.

Therefore, the musician thanks “life for every single moment, the bright ones and the dark ones, the people who have made me suffer because they have become my masters who have taught me lessons, very valuable lessons”.

In the end, Shakira tells the outlet that she will also be grateful for the father of her kids who turns her into the mother she’s today.
