Shakira has recently shared her heartfelt message to her fans in Rio after she celebrates her historic milestone.
The Colombian singer-songwriter takes to Instagram on May 3 and posted a carousel of pictures and videos from her shows, describing it as “unforgettable” and “breathtaking”.
“I couldn't sleep. Too much emotion,” writes the 49-year-old in the caption.
Shakira notes that what “happened last night in Rio was unforgettable and breathtaking… Two and a half million people were there; together we could recognise the power of music in all of us”.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer believes that time is tough these days but for now, “we went to celebrate life as it is, with its successes and imperfections”.
Reflecting on the beauty of Copacabana, Shakira mentioned that the place “reminds us what really matters, and the secret is to be present, to value what is before our eyes”.
“To contemplate the sea, the beach, the mountains, to feel the sun on our skin, the breeze. Because that's what we are made of,” she continues.
The Waka Waka crooner also points out the message “last night that Latin America gave to the world: it's simple to be happy. And Rio reminds us of that like no other place in the world”.
Shakira also thanks Queen Anitta, to Caetano, to her dear friend Ivete, to Maria Bethânia, to Unidos da Tijuca and to Dance Maré, for joining her on stage.
She also expresses gratitude to the mayor of Rio and the team at “@coronato the team of@todomundonorioto@studio.driftAnd to all the sponsors” for her show.
Before concluding, the Whenever, Wherever singer also says thanks to her “tireless team and the thousands of people who worked day and night on this production, incorporating many difficult changes to execute”.
In the end, Shakira also acknowledges her fans “who travelled from other countries or cities in Brazil to be there, making history” with her and above all “for making me feel that last night those two and a half million souls are my family”.
