Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jagmeet Singh’s crossover in 'Among Us' raises $200,000 funds

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and New Democratic party leader Jagmeet Singh in a live video session had a terrific cross-over in Among Us battle game. The live gaming session helped them to collect $200,000 US for a fundraiser on Saturday.

Cortez alias AOC said that the funds raised during the gaming battle with Singh on the popular online game Among Us will be spent on the number of initiatives aimed at reducing food and housing insecurity in the United States. It was streamed on the gaming site Twitch.

"Grateful to all who joined us last night! Wonderful learning from you @theJagmeetSingh," the Canadian lawmaker said on Twitter. Singh was delighted to share thoughts with AOC.

"Thank you for reminding us that another world is not only possible, but just a few hours' drive from NYC," AOC thanked Singh and appreciated the policies they have in their country as she referred to affordable health care and employment insurance in Canada.

Singh added, "It was awesome chatting with you about how we can build a better world. In Canada, things aren't perfect and we face many of the same challenges. But, together we can do better."

Singh and AOC agreed that they share progressive values on health care, economic equality and climate change, views that align with a growing slice of younger voters.
