Selena Gomez was born on July 22, 1992, in Texas, United States, to parents Mandy Teefay and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Starting her career as a child star in the television series Barney & Friends, she rose to fame with her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place in her teens.

Later, Selena transitioned into her musical career, releasing her solo debut album, Stars Dance, in 2013, and went on to make some smashing pop hits like Come & Get It, Same Old Love, Lose You To Love Me, and many others.

Alongside her singing career, Selena took up the role of executive producer for the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and Living Undocumented.

Keeping her acting career alive, she starred in 2021's drama Only Murders in the Building and lent her voice to Hotel Transylvania, an animated series, in 2022.

Selena's work gained widespread appreciation as she was awarded the 2019 Lo Nuestro Award for Crossover Collaboration of the Year for her song Taki Taki with DJ Snake.

She has secured 150 awards and 455 nominations, including one for a Grammy Award in 2021 and a People's Choice Award for Social Celebrity of 2022.

The singer and actress also entered the business world and launched her makeup brand, Rare Beauty, in September 2020.

As far as her personal life is concerned, Selena is now engaged to Benny Blanco, an American record producer and songwriter.
