Prince William will carry out his first royal duty since Kate Middleton’s cancer revelation.
While Princess Kate grapples with health issues, the Prince of Wales has been looking after the couple’s three children.
Sources inform PEOPLE, “William would return to public royal duties after the children returned to school (term starts on Wednesday, April 17) in a balanced, measured way, tempered by the needs of Kate and his family.”
On Thursday, April 18, the father of three will step out for his first official duty, highlighting the work of community and environmental organizations in Southwest London and Surrey with the desire to build a waste-free world.
He will begin the day in Sunbury-on-Thames after which he will visit a youth center.
Prince William is following in the footsteps of his father King Charles, who also worked towards tackling of food waste.
Kate Middleton revealed her shocking cancer diagnosis via a video message on March 22 where she gave a huge shoutout to her husband of 13 years.
“ He was a great source of comfort and reassurance,” Kate started off.
