You, Me & Tuscany producer pledged to make more rom-coms celebrating Black love, if his latest project earns box office success.

Film starring Regé-Jean Page and Halle Bailey' has made $8 million at the domestic box office following its April 10 release.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producer Will Packer shared that Hollywood has a “very paltry record when it comes to films that highlight diverse leads.”

He also noted that in recent years, the rom-coms have largely been viewed as streaming releases rather than theatrical films.

Packer argued that this trend could shift if audiences turn out in theatres for the newest project.

“Make no mistake: I remember the golden era of rom-coms, and even Black rom-coms: Love & Basketball, The Best Man, Think Like a Man, Brown Sugar, Two Can Play That Game, you name it,” he told the outlet, while reminiscing the old times.

Producer explained, “People do have to understand that Hollywood is a reactive industry, and there is an opportunity to say that this type of film — with these types of leads, with the audience that enjoys these types of films — are profitable and worth making, and Hollywood will make more of them.”

With that Pike hopes string ticket sale for You, Me & Tuscany in the coming weeks. It will prove the viability of Black rom-coms on the big screen.

You, Me & Tuscany is now playing in theatres.
