Timothée Chalamet is reportedly set to start filming for the sequel of the Paul King film Wonka, which came out in 2023.

The Academy Award nominee will take on the role of the reclusive chocolatier once again and is set to look at the past of the famous character.

As per reports, the Marty Supreme actor is set to begin filming for part 2 in August of this year, likely amid the promotion of Dune: Part 3 which is set to come out in December.

Since Wonka made over $634m worldwide on a budget of $125m and was generally considered a success, chatter about a sequel has existed.

However, the film had received mixed reviews from critics and moviegoers alike, which seems to be echoed among internet users with the new update.

One netizen took to X to write, “Between this and Dune 3, it feels like he's been reduced to doing sequels now,” another added, “To all the Timmy tards out there, Brando would never do a bloody Wonka film.”

A third internet user remarked, “I liked the first Wonka a lot. If they got an interesting story im all in,” and a fourth dished, “The first one was a pleasant surprise. So yeah, I'm game.”
