F1 set to race back to big screen, as producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed the sequel.

Film starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris was a box office hit, grossing $633 million worldwide, along with four Oscar nominations in upcoming 2026 awards.

Speaking with People magazine at The Hollywood Reporter's Nominees Night, the Top Gun franchise producer revealed, "We're working on the story. It's really good."

He continued, "We're talking to Lewis Hamilton. We're getting it going through him and pitching him the ideas and see what he thinks."

The Pirates of the Caribbean maker stayed tight lipped on return of Pitt as Sony Hayes, adding, "We'll see. I'm not going to tell you yet."

In the film, Sony was a former F1 racing prodigy who returned to the race tracks after 30 years as an underdog.

Idris’ Joshua Pierce is a young teammate who is mentored by Sony and Javier Bardem also appears in the film as Rubén Cervantes, the owner of the team.

Previously, the film's director Joseph Kosinski shared his desire of bring the characters back on screen, saying that way it was received by the public "I would love to see what adventures Sonny Hayes is going on to next, and I think the audience would too."

F1 is now available to stream on Apple TV.
