Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are reportedly facing a difficult “tug of love” this Christmas after receiving an invitation from King Charles to spend the festive period at Sandringham.

The royal sisters have found themselves caught between loyalty to the wider Royal Family and devotion to their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, who have both been engulfed in scandal over their past association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The controversy has had serious consequences for their parents, resulting in the loss of royal titles, Andrew’s princely status, and an eviction notice from their long-time home, Royal Lodge, which they are expected to vacate next year.

Despite the fallout, King Charles is said to have extended an olive branch to his nieces by inviting them to Norfolk for Christmas.

However, the gesture has reportedly left the sisters facing an emotional and logistical dilemma.

According to the Daily Mail, Princess Beatrice is feeling particularly strained by the situation and is struggling to balance competing loyalties. A source claimed she feels she “has to be in three places at once” on Christmas Day.

It has been reported that Beatrice would ideally like to spend the festive season at her new Cotswolds home with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, their children, and her mother. At the same time, she is said to feel a diplomatic obligation to be seen with the Royal Family at Sandringham.

Adding to the pressure, Beatrice has reportedly expressed a desire to spend what could be a final Christmas at Royal Lodge before her parents are forced to leave the property.

The source said: “Unless she makes a decision to pick one side and one side only, she will spend a lot of time in the car. Overall it falls to the princesses to soothe family divisions. They are struggling with Christmas.”

Princess Eugenie, however, is said to be far less conflicted about the situation. The 35-year-old reportedly favours spending Christmas in Portugal, where she divides her time with husband Jack Brooksbank.

The source added: “Eugenie was tempted to stay in Portugal with her family and husband Jack Brooksbank. She is so settled there, far from all the drama.”
