Meghan Markle is facing a potentially pivotal moment in her post-royal career, with one royal biographer warning that this Christmas could determine the future of her brand and public profile.
According to Express UK, royal author Tom Bower has claimed the festive period represents a critical crossroads for the Duchess of Sussex, particularly as she continues to promote her lifestyle ventures alongside her Netflix projects.
"This Christmas is make-or-break time for Meghan because there are two main problems - money and profile," he revealed.
According to Bower, despite high production values and a carefully curated image, Meghan’s lifestyle content has failed to gain the traction she may have hoped for.
"Her lifestyle shows are clearly not taking off. She put on a great show in terms of looking great and pretending nothing is wrong, but the reality is it's not a great success, to say the least."
"It hinges on how much Meghan can sell at Christmas and if it doesn't sell, she has a real problem. Are people prepared to pay $32 for a jar of honey from the Duchess of Sussex? If it doesn't work this Christmas, they have a real problem about what they will do in 2026."
Bower also turned his attention to Prince Harry, describing the Duke of Sussex as a "declining asset" amid a shrinking portfolio of public roles.
Earlier this year, Harry stepped back from his position at the Sentebale charity, and Bower suggested this has further reduced his visibility and influence.
"The fate of Sentebale is OK without him, so what's he got? The next Invictus Games is in 2027, so what is he going to do for a year?" Tom queried.
He concluded with a stark assessment of the couple’s current position, saying: "There's just no easy solution to the problem they have."
