Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been urged to “publicly distance themselves” from their parents, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, as the disgraced pair face renewed scrutiny over their past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The royal sisters, once affectionately dubbed the “York girls”, have remained silent following their parents’ latest downfall, which saw Andrew stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge, and Sarah lose multiple charity patronages.
However, insiders suggest their relationship with their mother has “collapsed” amid growing frustration.
Speaking to Express UK, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, “must now safeguard their own reputations.”
He explained: “They need to ensure there are no damaging photo opportunities. Whatever they think privately, they must avoid being seen with either of their parents for the foreseeable future.”
He added that the shocking 2011 email exchanges between Andrew, Sarah, and Epstein, which revealed they had lied about cutting ties, were likely just “the tip of the iceberg.”
