Before becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was already living a life fit for royalty, at least according to new claims about her behaviour on a 2016 charity trip to Rwanda.
At the time, Meghan was an ambassador for World Vision Canada, a humanitarian organisation dedicated to improving access to clean water.
However, royal biographer Tom Bower alleged in his 2023 tell-all book Revenge that the Suits actress issued an eyebrow-raising list of “non-negotiable” demands before agreeing to take part in the trip.
According to Bower, Meghan, then 34, insisted on flying first-class, travelling with her personal photographer Gabor Jurina and hair and makeup artist Michael Goyette, and bringing along multiple suitcases of designer outfits.
The biographer claimed Meghan’s “star-level requests” caused strain on the charity’s modest budget, allegedly forcing the film’s producer, Brenda Surminski, to pull out of the project altogether.
