Kamala Harris introduces the 'love of her life' to the world

The Democratic party’s Kamala Harris has broken ground as the first Black and first Asian-American woman to be elected as vice president. Her husband, Douglas Emhoff, is set to become the nation's first Second Gentleman.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were projected to win the 2020 presidential race on Friday. On Saturday morning, other major news outlets declared their victory.

Kamala Harris has been with her husband Douglas Emhoff since 2013. On Instagram, the vice president-elect shared an adorable photo with her husband. She captioned the photo and wrote, “Meet the love of my life, @DouglasEmhoff.”

While some might find the life of a political spouse a little overwhelming, Emhoff fully embraced the experience when Harris started her presidential run "endlessly fascinating." The majority of his social media posts afterward were in support of Harris's campaign, and later for the Biden/Harris campaign—his Twitter bioeven describes him as "@kamalaharris hubby."

Emhoff, 56, is an entertainment lawyer, and has played an active role throughout the Harris's campaign.
