Donald Trump once delivered a brutal two-word insult to Meghan Markle, reigniting focus on their long-running feud as the US President arrives in Britain for a two-day state visit.
The 79-year-old, who landed in the UK on Tuesday alongside First Lady Melania Trump, has a history of taking swipes at Meghan, 44, and her husband Prince Harry, 41, following their royal exit.
Earlier this year, Harry faced scrutiny from Washington think tank The Heritage Foundation, which demanded the release of his US visa application after the Duke admitted to past drug use in his memoir Spare.
Amid calls for Harry’s deportation, Trump appeared to brush off the idea, but still fired shots at Meghan.
“I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone,” Trump told the New York Post. “He’s got enough problems with his wife… She’s terrible.”
The harsh comment marked one of several verbal clashes between Trump and the Sussexes. Meghan herself once publicly described Trump as “divisive and misogynistic” during a 2016 appearance on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, years before meeting Harry.
