Kate Middleton pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth at Duchess of Kent's funeral

Kate Middleton paid a powerful hidden tribute during the funeral of the Duchess of Kent at Westminster Cathedral, honouring both the late Queen Elizabeth II and the late duchess with her jewellery choice.

The Princess of Wales, 43, arrived alongside Prince William in a sleek black coatdress and veiled pillbox hat, but it was her necklace that caught royal watchers’ attention. 

Kate wore the four-strand pearl choker with a diamond clasp, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s most iconic pieces, gifted to the late monarch by the Japanese government in the 1970s.

Kate paired the choker with pearl drop earrings, striking the perfect balance of elegance and symbolism. 

The choice was especially poignant, as she has previously reserved the necklace for the most solemn occasions, including Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral in 2022 and Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021.
