Prince Harry may be feeling “quite apprehensive” about a possible reunion with King Charles when he returns to the UK in two weeks, according to a former royal aide.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, is set to fly back to London to attend the WellChild Awards on September 8, an event that coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
While his trip could open the door to a long-awaited meeting with his father, insiders warn that nothing is guaranteed.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold told The Mirror that Harry will likely be nervous about the potential encounter.
“It’s quite a big deal if he does get to see his father,” he explained, adding that the meeting could spark early discussions about whether the rift can finally be healed.
Still, Harrold cautioned that one meeting cannot undo “four or five years of fallout,” pointing instead to a “stepping stone” in the reconciliation process.
He stressed that any reunion would have to remain private, saying, “Knowing the King, he will want this resolved.”
While King Charles appears open to the idea, Prince William reportedly remains unwilling to reconcile with his younger brother, leaving the family’s future relationship uncertain.
