Meghan Markle was left in an awkward moment on the second season of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan after a guest admitted he’d never seen her hit show Suits.
In episode seven, released on August 26, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, met mixologist Payman Bahmani-Bailey alongside her longtime friend Heather Dorak.
While mixing drinks, Meghan asked him how he became a mixologist, and Payman revealed he previously worked as a lawyer in New York, a connection Meghan clearly couldn’t resist.
“Did you watch Suits?” she asked, referencing her seven-season role as paralegal Rachel Zane. But the response wasn’t what she expected.
“No, no, I don’t watch basic cable. I like shows with curse words and stuff,” he quipped. Meghan laughed off the jab, replying: “Great, I love it.”
Fans quickly reacted online, calling the exchange “painful” and “hilarious,” with one viewer posting: “Did he just bulldoze her by saying he doesn’t watch basic cable? Ouchhh.”
Meghan previously reflected on the show’s resurgence in popularity, telling People: “I’m not surprised people are rediscovering Suits. It was so well written and produced.”
She even admitted she kept a pencil skirt from the very first episode.
