Prince Harry actor Luther Ford reveals 'scary' first day on 'The Crown'

Luther Ford, who portrayed a young Prince Harry in the final season of Netflix’s global hit The Crown, has opened up about a nerve-racking experience on set.

Speaking to BBC Radio London, the rising actor admitted he struggled at the start of filming. 

“At the beginning of filming, I couldn't move. I was so scared,” Ford confessed. 

“I remember we did the first take and the director came up to me and said, ‘You need to breathe in between each sentence.’ It was so scary, so many people.”

The Crown, which ran for six seasons, concluded in 2023 after dramatizing Queen Elizabeth II’s reign from the 1940s through to the 2005 wedding of King Charles and Queen Camilla. 

The final episodes featured the next generation of royals, with Ford stepping into the spotlight as Prince Harry.

The series has been praised for its lavish production and compelling performances, but Ford’s revelation highlights the intense pressure faced by young actors stepping into the roles of some of the most recognisable figures in the world. 

Despite the nerves, Ford won praise from fans for his nuanced portrayal of the Duke of Sussex.
