Kate Middleton has established herself as one of the world’s leading style icons, but there’s one colour you’ll never see in her wardrobe: beige.

The Princess of Wales, 43, has long followed the example of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was famous for wearing bright, bold shades designed to make her stand out in any crowd.

From vibrant reds and regal blues to delicate pastels, the late monarch’s colour-blocking ensured she was instantly visible at royal engagements.

Kate has adopted the same philosophy.

This summer, she wowed in a Tiffany-blue Catherine Walker coatdress for Trooping the Colour and later stunned in a cobalt-blue Roksanda midi dress at Wimbledon—both looks earning praise from royal fans and fashion critics alike.

Celebrity stylist Leroy Dawkins told The Mirror that Kate’s colour choices reflect both royal tradition and her preparation for her future role as Queen.

“Colours chosen can also let you know the wearer’s mood, as colours represent certain messages,” he explained.

Unlike Meghan Markle, who often embraces muted tones and neutrals, Kate has vowed she would “never wear beige,” as it would cause her to fade into the background, a clear break from her duty to be seen.
