Meghan Markle was left in tears, though Kate Middleton later sent flowers in apology
A dramatic confrontation reportedly unfolded between Meghan Markle and Prince William in the weeks following Prince Louis’ birth and just before Harry and Meghan’s Windsor wedding in 2018.
According to Robert Jobson’s new book Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography, William was angered after Meghan referred to Kate Middleton as having “baby brain” shortly after giving birth to her third child.
Kate, then freshly postpartum, reportedly told Meghan: “We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones.”
The comment sparked tension between the couples, with William later confronting Meghan directly.
Prince Harry’s memoir Spare also alluded to the fallout, saying Meghan was left in tears, though Kate later sent flowers in apology.
But when William pressed Meghan for an apology during a later meeting, accusing her of being “rude,” the Duchess of Sussex reportedly snapped back with a fiery seven-word retort: “Take your finger out of my face.”
The row added to growing tensions between the Waleses and the Sussexes, which later deepened after disagreements surrounding Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress at the royal wedding.
