Meghan Markle reportedly took careful steps to shape her public image in the weeks before her relationship with Prince Harry was revealed, according to a royal author.
The Duchess of Sussex, now 43, met Harry in July 2016, with the couple confirming their romance later that year.
But author Tom Bower claims Meghan had already begun making strategic moves to control how she was perceived once the news broke.
In his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, Bower writes: “In Meghan Markle’s life, little happened by chance. Beyond the empathetic smile was a woman who disrupted spontaneity and liked to control every aspect of her life."
"In late September 2016, nothing was more important than her relationship with Harry.”
According to Bower, Meghan quietly edited her Wikipedia page in October 2016, removing references to her stint on Deal or No Deal and modelling work.
Instead, she highlighted her humanitarian efforts, including a speech at a United Nations women’s event in New York.
Bower also claimed Meghan deliberately “outed” the relationship with an Instagram post from a Halloween party attended with Harry, Princess Eugenie, and Jack Brooksbank, marking the beginning of their whirlwind royal journey.
