Why Prince William and Kate Middleton wont ever return to London after move

Prince William and Kate Middleton are preparing for a big move as they swap Adelaide Cottage for the grander Forest Lodge, but insiders say they have no plans to return to London.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have enjoyed their time at Adelaide Cottage, but the four-bedroom home has become too small for their growing family.

Forest Lodge, located nearby in Windsor, offers eight bedrooms plus cottages for staff, making it a better long-term fit.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk that Windsor has become the couple’s preferred base.

“The move makes perfect sense as Princess Kate’s parents and siblings live nearby and they are a very close-knit family. Their children go to Lambrook School, and Eton, likely for George, is also close by,” he said.

Fitzwilliams added that the area offers “greater privacy, outdoor space, and is well placed for security.”

A source previously told The Sun that the couple wanted a “fresh start” after a challenging year, particularly with Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

With renovations already underway, the family is expected to move into Forest Lodge before the end of the year, and intend for it to be their “forever home,” even when William becomes King.
