Regretting You is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name, which came out in 2019. It follows the story of Morgan and Clara in a strained mother-daughter relationship, which is further complicated by the tragic death of Morgan’s husband, Chris.
Directed by Josh Boone and written by Susan McMartin, the film was first announced in August 2024. Later in November, Hoover announced that another adaptation, titled Verity, was in development.
Notably, Hoover is an executive producer for the movie as she’s involved heavily in the creative process, ensuring the script and direction stay true to the book.
For the unversed, Regretting You will be released in theatres on October 2, 2025.
