Wednesday Season 2 has returned three years after the first season, and it delves into the diverse romance elements from Season 1.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Wednesday creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough discussed the romance angle in Season 2.

Miles started by saying that "the teen experience generally involves romance and exploring that aspect of life.”

The showrunner explained that the theme of romance felt like the right way for them to handle Wednesday’s teen life era.

“Wednesday had been so burnt in Season 1,” Millar told the outlet. “Obviously, she fell in love and had wandered down the romantic path reluctantly with Tyler, and then got the shock of her life when he was discovered to be a Hyde and a monster who was responsible for these murders.”

The co-creator of the Emmy-winning show said that after the first season’s truth, Wednesday had closed the door and was in doubt about what she would do.

“But that said, when she gets back and eventually confronts and encounters Tyler in his cell at Willow Hill, there's something there,” the creator noted.

There is chemistry between the teen pair, and Tyler mentioned that there’s a spark between them.

Millar believes that Tyler is holding “a flame” for Wednesday, not forgetting her.

Furthermore, Wednesday and Tyler, starring Jenna Ortega and Hunter Doohan, respectively, have a great understanding, as Millar mentioned.

“Hunter and Jenna have incredible chemistry together,” Millar said. “So we love those scenes. There's that happening, but the other kids are also exploring that avenue. It felt like that was the right way to handle that area of the show and era of teen life.”

Wednesday Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
