Late-night comedy veteran Stephen Colbert has an optimistic remark on South Park’s public service announcement against Donald Trump and parent company Paramount.

The Season 27 premiere features an AI-generated nude depiction of Trump, who has recently signed orders to deregulate AI.

The Emmy-winning comedian joked about the cartoon on the Thursday, July 24 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and embraced the political messaging involved in the animated show.

“And I completely agree with this one,” Colbert said in his opening monologue. “Because if the government interfered with private AI, innovators at South Park wouldn’t be able to make important videos like this one. That is a message of hope.”

Colbert noted, “That is an important message of hope for our times, and you can check it out right here,” and displayed a QR code for HeTrumpedUs.com, linking to the scene.

Recently, Stephen Colbert has been in headlines after CBS unceremoniously cancelled his show, and Paramount, the parent company of CBS, is getting bashed for the cancellation of the show after the company’s $16M settlement with Trump.

Some lawmakers suggest that the deal is a potential bribery, while the company regards the cancellation as “a purely financial decision.”

Following this announcement, Colbert has been making jokes at the president’s expense, while Trump has celebrated the talk show’s fall.
