South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have finalized a deal with Paramount+ which will result in the show streaming on the platform.

A five year long deal, it will feature all 26 seasons of the series on the platform, debuting 50 new episodes starting this year.

This announcement comes after months of bidding wars between different platforms to have access to the iconic cartoon.

Paramount as well as its network CBS have been facing intense criticism recently due to the shocking cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with them calling it “purely a financial decision".

New episodes of South Park will be on Paramount’s channel Comedy Central before going to stream on Paramount+.

Prior to this, the show was able to stream on rival platform HBO Max.

Having debuted in 1997, the synopsis of the series reads, “Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny are four foul-mouthed friends who live in South Park. They have several bizarre misadventures in and around town, involving both the ordinary and supernatural.”

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are also responsible for having created the polarizing but successful musical, The Book of Mormon.
