Meghan Markle’s attempt at curating the perfect mix of royal glam and everyday charm has seemingly backfired, big time.
Her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which debuted in March, made an early splash with 2.6 million views in its first week.
But the buzz didn’t last. New Netflix rankings reveal the show has since stalled, accumulating only 2.7 million more views over several months.
That brings the total to a lukewarm 5.3 million views, ranking a dismal 383rd globally.
In stark contrast, Netflix’s most-watched show Adolescence pulled in a jaw-dropping 145 million views, while Squid Game seasons 2 and 3 scored 117 million and 72 million views respectively.
Royal commentator Esther Krakue didn’t hold back, telling Sky News Australia: “Meghan wants to seem like the everyday woman - baking muffins and doing yoga in the morning sun, but it comes across as overly polished and completely detached from reality.”
Critics argue that the show’s core flaw is its identity crisis: “relatable yet unattainable.”
