Prince William knew Meghan Markle's true intentions from the start, expert reveals

Prince William reportedly "saw right through" Meghan Markle’s alleged plan from the moment she joined the royal family, according to royal insiders. 

Royal expert Phil Dampier told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show that the Prince of Wales was skeptical of Meghan’s intentions early on, long before the public fallout.

Dampier claimed William believed Meghan viewed her marriage to Prince Harry as a “stepping stone” to global fame, rather than a lifelong commitment to royal duties.

“I think that’s what initially Prince William was concerned about. And that’s why they fell out,” he said. 

“Sadly, Meghan never really had any intention of staying in the Royal Family.”

These claims echo recent revelations by royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, who shared private conversations with the late Queen’s cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson. According to Smith’s Substack, the Queen herself had expressed concerns about Meghan’s motives before the 2018 wedding.

The deepening divide between the brothers has been a defining aspect of the royal family's struggles since Harry and Meghan’s departure in 2020. 

And with new insider accounts surfacing, it appears William’s suspicions may have played a larger role than previously thought.
