Prince William is staying silent, but those close to him are not holding back after Prince Harry’s bombshell BBC interview last week.
While the Prince of Wales hasn't commented publicly on his estranged brother's latest claims, a close friend of William’s has branded Harry and Meghan’s behaviour “absolutely vile”, according to reports from The Daily Beast.
The insider didn’t mince words, saying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s ongoing attacks show Harry “has no interest in reconciling,” despite what he says publicly.
“If he did, a period of silence would have been the right thing to do,” William’s friend added.
The fiery comments come in response to Harry’s interview with the BBC, where he opened up after losing a Court of Appeal battle over his taxpayer-funded security in the UK.
What did Prince Harry say in his BBC interview?
In the emotional sit-down, Harry claimed, he had been “singled out” when his security was downgraded in 2020
He also said his father, King Charles, “won’t speak” to him about the issue, and he didn’t know “how long [his father] has left to live”
Buckingham Palace didn’t respond to the specific claims about family estrangement, but they did issue a curt statement about the court case: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”
Meanwhile, William and King Charles have stayed focused on their public duties, putting on a united front amid the growing royal drama.
