Kate Middleton dazzles in tiara and gown at emotional royal comeback

Kate Middleton made a show-stopping return to royal duties Tuesday night, attending her first state banquet in two years, and she did it in unforgettable style.

Dressed in a regal deep red silk creponne gown designed by Sarah Burton for Givenchy, the Princess of Wales looked radiant. 

The gown’s gathered detail and dramatic cape back added flair to the emotional occasion. The designer nod is particularly meaningful, as Burton previously led Alexander McQueen and crafted Kate’s wedding dress.

Kate, 43, paired the look with the iconic Lover’s Knot Tiara, a favourite of Princess Diana’s, and a delicate clutch embroidered with lily of the valley, symbolizing happiness and renewal.

This marks Kate’s first state banquet appearance since November 2023, following her public announcement earlier this year that she is in remission after undergoing cancer treatment. 

Kensington Palace only confirmed her attendance hours before the event, continuing its cautious approach as she prioritizes her recovery.

The Princess also wore the King Charles III Royal Family Order for the first time, a symbolic honour for senior royal women, further cementing her place at the heart of the monarchy.
