Taking to social media, Charles shared a black-and-white image from 1967 showing him and Diana riding a camel at her sixth birthday party, with their father, John, Earl Spencer, looking on.
“Remembering an earlier July 1st - that of 1967, when my father thrilled all of us at Diana’s 6th birthday by getting Bert the camel over for the afternoon, from Peterborough Zoo…!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Prince William marked his late mother’s birthday by continuing her legacy.
The Prince of Wales spent the day in Sheffield celebrating the second anniversary of his homelessness initiative, Homewards, an issue Diana deeply cared about.
During a panel discussion, William reflected on how Diana’s compassion shaped his own mission, saying: “You are literally excluded from society unless somebody comes along with a good-natured heart.”
