Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer takes a brutal dig at King Charles in a new interview

Earl Spencer didn’t hold back when discussing his late sister Princess Diana and her relationship with King Charles, revealing a brutal three-word nickname for the monarch in a new interview.

Speaking on the Rosebud podcast with Gyles Brandreth, the 61-year-old recalled the days following Diana’s tragic death in 1997 and the emotional process of writing her eulogy.

Spencer explained he had initially planned for someone else to deliver the speech but, after encouragement from his mother and sisters, decided to do it himself, realising he needed to “speak for her.”

In a striking moment, the Earl reflected on his role as guardian to Diana’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, saying: “I knew she’d left me as guardian of her sons. Obviously, the other parent being alive meant nothing. But it meant something to me.”

The phrase “the other parent”, a clear reference to King Charles, quickly went viral, with fans calling it “the ultimate shade.”
