King Charles is paying for Queen Elizabeths mistakes surrounding Prince Andrew

King Charles is “paying the price” for his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s soft spot for Prince Andrew, according to royal expert Roya Nikkhah.

Writing in The Sunday Times, Nikkhah claimed the late monarch’s unwavering affection for her second son, often described as her “favourite”, prevented her from taking tougher action when his scandals first emerged.

“Andrew remained her weak spot,” she wrote, “and Charles is now paying the price.”

Despite being stripped of his royal patronages, military titles, and HRH status in 2022 after settling a lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre, the Queen allowed Andrew to retain his titles and remain at Royal Lodge, a decision that has now become a major headache for the King.

Charles, with support from Prince William, has reportedly urged Andrew to leave the 30-room Windsor mansion, which he occupies under a “cast-iron” 75-year lease.

However, the disgraced royal has resisted moving out, with property experts saying he could be entitled to £557,595 in compensation if he surrenders the lease early.

Nikkhah added that the King is determined to “draw a line under the Andrew problem” before it overshadows his reign but so far, his brother refuses to bow to pressure.
