Kate Middleton was reportedly uneasy after learning that her new home at Forest Lodge will place her family just a mile away from Prince Andrew’s controversial residence, Royal Lodge.
According to the Mail on Sunday, a royal insider claimed that the Princess of Wales “shudders” at the idea of living so close to the disgraced royal, who has remained at Royal Lodge since 2003.
The source said: “Catherine shudders at the thought of living so close to Royal Lodge while Prince Andrew is still in it.”
Prince William, who has privately expressed his desire for Andrew to vacate the property, reportedly wanted the Duke gone before his family’s move.
Andrew and Sarah Ferguson surrendered their royal titles last week amid renewed scrutiny over their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Kate and William’s relocation to Forest Lodge follows reports that their current home, Adelaide Cottage, was never their “original plan.”
The couple had hoped to move into Royal Lodge but were “forced to compromise” when Andrew refused to move out.
