Meghan Markle’s upcoming rosé launch has stirred major backlash after critics pointed out its release date, July 1, coincides with what would’ve been Princess Diana’s 64th birthday.
During a heated segment on GB News, host Ben Leo and his guest slammed the Duchess of Sussex for what they described as “chilling” timing.
“This is no coincidence,” said the guest, adding that launching an alcohol brand on Diana’s birthday, given the princess’s tragic death involving a drunk driver, felt like “bad taste.”
Leo echoed the sentiment, calling it “strategic and weird,” claiming this pattern of timed product drops after major royal moments has happened “too many times.”
The guest further criticized Meghan’s brand, As Ever, suggesting her rosé is aimed at replicating the high-profit success of other celebrity alcohol ventures.
She also mocked the sold-out jam previously released by Meghan, questioning whether the sellout was real or “just her mum bulk-buying.”
This latest controversy follows recent scrutiny over Meghan’s jam being mass-produced at a US facility thousands of miles from her Montecito home, casting more doubt on the authenticity of her "homemade" brand.
Meghan’s As Ever rosé is set to launch July 1.
