Amazon Prime Video mocks Netflix's restriction on password sharing

The public has responded well to Amazon Prime Video's criticism of Netflix's recent crackdown on password-sharing.

The policy of Netflix prohibiting user-to-user password sharing has started to take effect. In a tweet, Prime Video UK made fun of Netflix by posting a screenshot of the service's profile selection page that contained the amusing message, "Everyone who has our password [heart emoji]."

This tweet was a retweet of one from Netflix from 2017 that claimed, "Love is sharing a password," which now appears hilarious.

Prime Video's direct comment was greatly appreciated by Netflix users who disapproved of the new policy.

Netflix has been sending emails to consumers warning them that sharing accounts with anyone outside of their family is prohibited. If a user is accused of account sharing, they have two choices: they can transfer their profile to a new subscription that has been paid for by someone else or they can purchase an additional membership for $7.99/£4.99 per month for each additional member.

With the second option, the "extra member" has their own account and password.
