Ed Sheeran is opening up.

In the upcoming film Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All, Ed Sheeran will divulge some of the most private aspects of his life.

The 32-year-old singer-songwriter will take viewers on a voyage around the globe as he provides a glimpse into the inspiration behind his songs in the four-part series, which will debut on Disney+ on May 3.

"I've always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I've ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting," Sheeran said in a statement.

"Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it."

A trailer for Sheeran's upcoming personal library of interviews and concerts was made available by the streaming service on Monday.

The Grammy winner's upcoming album, pronounced Minus (but written with a "-"), will be released just a few days later on May 5, with the single "Eyes Closed" arriving on March 24.

The trailer for The Sum of It All combines voiceovers with clips from several interviews with Sheeran to show him growing up playing the violin and becoming a father for the first time.

"Ginger hair. Really short. He stutters," Using voiceover narration over some early childhood clips, Sheeran began the clip before cutting to the singer playing live as an adult.

"That guy doesn't become a pop star. It's so unlikely," added Sheeran. "You just have to work harder because there's always someone who wants it more than you."
