Nick Nemeroff, the comedy community mourns the loss

Nick Nemeroff, a young comedian who was raised in Montreal, passed away unexpectedly, leaving comedy lovers across the nation in mourning.

Nemeroff, who was in his early 30s, had won a number of honors since beginning his comedic career. He has performed on Conan, at Just For Laughs, on CBC and CTV comedy shows, and his album The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life was nominated for a Juno Award last year.

“He leaves behind a large group of dedicated friends spread across the many places he has lived: Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Australia”, says the family of the deceased.

“Truly a devastating loss to the Toronto and Montreal comedy communities, Nemeroff’s agency Grand Wave Entertainment said in a statement. “Where [comedy community] he developed and perfected his unique performance and delivery style," they added.

With leaving behind his parents, Nemeroff was also the brother of two siblings and an "amazing uncle" to four kids, according to his relatives

Neither the agency nor Nemeroff's family disclosed the specifics of his demise. As well as his funeral hasn't been given a date.
