Taylor Swift is returning to her roots and to one of her earliest childhood loves.
The global superstar has announced I Knew It, I Knew You, an original track written for Pixar's Toy Story 5, co-written and produced with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff.
On Friday, June 5, the Lover hitmaker dropped the news on social media alongside a nostalgic 26 second video of herself as a young child, dressed in a full cowboy outfit, dancing and singing with pure joy, a clip that reflects the spirit of Jessie, the beloved yodeling cowgirl voiced by Joan Cusack.
"Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once," she penned.
Moreover, she acknowledged director Andrew Stanton and Pixar for trusting her with the project.
Additionally, she mentioned that she has loved these characters and the franchise since she was five years old, adding “to infinity and beyond” with love and gratitude, while also thanking Randy Newman.
Notably, the Toy Story 5 is slated to hit theaters on June 19.
