Travis Scott plans biggest career shake-up after 'Utopia'

Travis Scott has revealed he's taking inspiration from rock legends Oasis and Van Halen as he works on what he promises will be his most ambitious album yet.

The 35-year-old rap superstar may currently be appearing in Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Odyssey, but he's made it clear that music remains his biggest priority. 

While branching out into acting and film projects, Travis insisted he has no intention of taking his eyes off the ultimate prize.

Speaking about his next musical chapter, the Sicko Mode hitmaker teased that the follow-up to his 2023 chart-topping album Utopia is already well underway. 

Determined to avoid repeating himself, he said he's pushing the boundaries of his sound and experimenting with influences fans may never expect.

Among the artists shaping the project are funk pioneers Parliament, Britpop icons Oasis, rock favourites Van Halen, R&B star Raphael Saadiq, electronic duo Daft Punk and fellow rapper Don Toliver, hinting at an eclectic new direction.

But Travis isn't only reinventing his music as he's also planning to transform his live shows into theatrical spectacles. 

The rapper revealed that Utopia was originally imagined as a stage play, and he's still determined to create immersive experiences that connect with fans in every corner of a stadium before live entertainment becomes increasingly digital.

Away from music, Travis is expanding his empire. 

His Cactus Jack company has signed a first-look deal with Paramount, giving him the chance to develop films and champion bold creative ideas he believes Hollywood has become too cautious to embrace.

While he admits winning a Grammy remains on his bucket list, he's now setting his sights even higher.

For Travis, the next trophy he dreams of lifting isn't another music award and it's an Oscar.
