Charli XCX has reflected on the surprising journey behind her upcoming album Music, Fashion, Film after initially planning to pause her music career.
During an appearance on the Pop Pod podcast, the star explained that she was unsure about what she still had left to say creatively before inspiration struck.
She said, "I'm a big believer in the idea that once you get that gift of inspiration."
She continued, "You kind of have to go with it because you never know how long it will last, whether you will ever get it again."
The pop star added that the project "totally took" her by surprise, as she was not planning to make another record at the time.
Moreover, she revealed that she wants to change her approach to touring in the future to focus more on her health, saying, "I'm getting older, I've got to look after myself."
Notably, Music, Fashion, Film is set to be released on July 24.
