Sir Anthony Hopkins is proving it's never too late to chase a lifelong passion after launching a music career at the age of 88.
The Oscar-winning The Silence of the Lambs legend has unveiled his first single, Bracken Road, giving fans a taste of his upcoming debut classical album, Life Is a Dream, which is set for release on August 21.
Released on Friday, Bracken Road is taken from Hopkins' 1947: Suite for Solo Piano and Orchestra.
Notably, it draws inspiration from his childhood in Margam, South Wales, where he was born and first discovered his love of music.
Although celebrated around the world for his unforgettable performances on screen, Hopkins revealed that music has always been close to his heart.
He admitted composing has remained a constant throughout his life, as he started playing the piano at just four years old.
He said, "Music was my first desire, my first wish. I've been composing music all my life.
Some of these pieces have lived with me for decades and I still find myself returning to them. My whole life is a dream."
The Hannibal actor has signed with Decca Classics for the album, which is conducted by acclaimed maestro Gustavo Dudamel and performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, alongside celebrated soloists Gregorio Nieto and Sergio Tiempo.
